WORLD-CLASS
ZOOM WHITENING IN COLORADO SPRINGS, CO
If you want to get your teeth whitened for lasting results, Zoom whitening is a suitable procedure to opt for. Whatever is the reason for your discolored teeth, our dentist ensures that they can treat them using this procedure and restore your pearly white smile. Ever since its introduction, Zoom whitening has been gaining a lot of popularity. Here’s everything to know about it.
Treatment Planning
When you visit our dentist, they will conduct a dental examination to ensure that your teeth and gums are in good health. They will also discuss your oral hygiene and lifestyle habits to interpret whether you will benefit from this procedure or not. They may also pair this procedure with others such as composite bonding, veneer, etc., to ensure best results, depending on the condition of your teeth.
The Procedure
After your dental examination, our dentist will start with the procedure. They will place a protective cover over your gums and lips such that only your teeth are exposed for the procedure. This step is followed by applying a whitening gel to your teeth and leaving it for 15 minutes. Now, they will use a special lamp in combination with hydrogen peroxide Zoom whitening gel to remove all the stains, plaque, and tartar from the surface of your teeth. More gel will be applied every 15 minutes until all the stains are removed to perfection.
The entire procedure takes approximately an hour to complete. Once the whitening process comes to an end, they will apply a different gel to reduce tooth sensitivity. They will also give you a touch-up kit and recommend you follow up with them from time to time to maintain your pearly white smile.
The After-Care
After the procedure, you are expected to follow the aftercare to maintain the results for a longer time. The touch-up kit provided by our dentist includes custom-fitted trays. Follow their instructions and use the touch-up kit.
They will also advise you to avoid consuming certain foods and beverages that may stain your teeth, such as acidic foods, aerated drinks, and alcohol. Avoid using tobacco products as they discolor your teeth to a great extent. Maintain a proper oral hygiene regimen involving brushing and flossing your teeth at least twice a day. Such a routine keeps the accumulation of plaque and tartar at bay. Apart from this, our dentist may also suggest toothpaste containing whitening agents to maintain the effects of Zoom whitening for a longer time.
